Small Town Garden Design in Guildford Surrey

Small Town Garden Design - Guildford, Surrey

Set on a hill near the town centre, this pretty Victorian house had a neglected and overgrown garden. The new extension at the back had eaten into the only area of paved terrace. There was a lovely view over the distant countryside but nowhere to relax and enjoy it. The front garden had become a dumping ground for successive builders’ materials. My garden design created a flowing route from the back of the house through the garden to a small vegetable garden, shed and carport. The existing York stone crazy paving was recycled to be incorporated into a large, brick edged terrace, with a bubbling pot water feature. The South facing front garden was designed for easy maintenance with Mediterranean style gravel planting instead of lawn, including Chives, Valerian and Purple Sage. The existing Victorian rope-top edging was recycled to edge new brick paths and a central sun dial provides an interesting focal point.

Client's testimonial

I was very happy with the outcome of the design and planting in my garden, the colours and balance worked well and Cherry interpreted my requests during the design planning very successfully.
