Plant Lover's Garden, Surrey

Sitting centrally on a large plot, this garden had very little interesting planting and the paving was poor quality. The garden was dominated by a large number of mature Conifers. My client, who is a passionate plant lover, wanted a garden with a wide variety of plants for all seasons. Once the Conifers were removed, new Yew hedging could be planted to create differentÍ› rooms around the house. Paving with Indian sandstone, brick and clay tile detailing compliments the traditional style of the house. A wide range of flowering trees were planted, along with effervescent planting of shrubs and perennials. Roses, Lavender and Lychnis abound. A sundial forms the centre piece of a new herb garden near the kitchen. A separate formal garden at the front replaces a concrete paved parking space and a new driveway smartens up the approach to the house.

Client's testimonial

Cherry, I have been meaning to email you. I just wanted to say what pleasure the garden has brought these last few days - it really is lovely and I keep wandering round in bewilderment, as does Chris! Thank you so much for all you have done and the happiness you have brought.
